Krysten Aldape

Thank you for stopping by and reading more about me!

I’m a Latina Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and the founder of Krysalis Counseling, a practice rooted in compassion, cultural humility, and healing. My passion for this work comes from a deep understanding of the emotional weight many BIPOC individuals—especially those within Latinx/Hispanic communities—carry as they navigate family expectations, generational patterns, identity, and survival mode.

I believe mental health care should feel affirming, accessible, and culturally responsive. In our work together, you won’t need to over-explain your culture, values, or lived experiences. I strive to create a space where your story is honored, your resilience is recognized, and your emotions are met with empathy rather than judgment.

I often work with individuals and couples who feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed. With couples, I support partners in strengthening communication, rebuilding trust, navigating conflict, and breaking unhelpful relational patterns—often shaped by family dynamics and intergenerational experiences. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, helping couples better understand one another while fostering deeper emotional connection and mutual respect.

You deserve care that honors both who you are and where you come from. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you move toward clarity, balance, and meaningful change.

My Mission

At Krysalis Counseling, my mission is to offer compassionate, culturally responsive mental health care that supports meaningful healing and lasting growth. I am deeply committed to prioritizing the well-being of BIPOC communities, with a special focus on serving Latinx and Hispanic individuals and families who have historically been underserved in mental health spaces.

I strive to create a warm, affirming environment where clients feel safe to show up as their full selves—where their stories are honored, their identities are respected, and their experiences are met with empathy rather than judgment. Therapy at Krysalis Counseling is a collaborative process centered on healing from trauma, understanding intergenerational patterns, and reconnecting with personal strengths.

Through personalized, evidence-based care, I aim to empower clients to build resilience, deepen self-awareness, and cultivate a sense of belonging within themselves and their relationships. I believe in the transformative power of mental health care—not only to support individual growth, but to inspire change, restore hope, and uplift the communities we come from.
